Fast answer
The pinball layer is where Clash of Critters stops being a normal idle roster game. Good launches create repeat collisions, better lane timing, and safer board states.
What makes a good launch
A strong shot usually does at least one of these:
- tags multiple enemies in sequence
- pushes pressure away from a fragile lane
- triggers a carry Tatari on a useful line
- buys time for healing or control to matter
Common launch mistakes
- aiming only for the nearest target
- ignoring where the Tatari will end after the bounce
- sending a carry into a bad lane just to force one more hit
How team building changes pinball value
Pinball is not separate from roster building. It rewards Tatari that:
- keep doing work after the first contact
- reward repeated collisions
- stabilize bad landings
That is one reason Buddi, Voltfawn, and Dewgrub feel so strong in launch play.
Practical aim advice
- when the board is stable, play for value chains
- when the board is unstable, play for survival and lane reset
- when a boss phase is close, preserve your carry angle instead of gambling on a low-value side lane
The habit worth building
Before every shot, decide whether the board needs damage, space, or time. That tiny habit makes your launches much more deliberate.
